The state Room - Speakeasy Cocktail Bar & Fine Dining in Patchogue, NY
The State Room sits on the second floor of one of Main Street Patchogue's oldest buildings — a general store owned by James G. Shand since the late 1800s — with its own entrance off Havens Avenue. What was once a cornerstone of the village is now one of Long Island's most distinctive dining and cocktail experiences: thirty seats, low lighting, rich textures, and a bar program built around house-made syrups, curated spirits, and cocktails that change with the seasons.
This is an intimate speakeasy-style cocktail lounge above Shands General, and it doesn't feel like anywhere else on the South Shore. The menu is chef-driven and seasonal — the same commitment to locally sourced ingredients you'd find downstairs, elevated for a room where the pace is slower and the occasion usually means something. The State Room is available for full private buyout for groups of up to 30 seated or 45 for cocktail-style events. We've hosted rehearsal dinners, anniversary suppers, client entertainment dinners, birthday celebrations, and corporate team dinners — each one shaped around the occasion rather than a fixed package.
